The MEP Shark 281SXI Evo Semi-Automatic Band Saw is manufactured in Italy and guarantees straight cuts and long blade life. It’s the ideal band saw for any medium to large fabricator to cut up to 280 x 220mm RHS or 250mm Round.

Built in a cast iron construction to cut from 45° left , it has three modes of operation: Manual, Dynamic and Semi-Automatic.

Manual cycle – the operator clamps material manually and pulls cutting bow down by use of the low voltage handle and lifts back up after the cut.

Dynamic mode – the operator pulls bow down to desired starting point, squeezes the trigger, the vice closes, cut commences hydraulically, after the cut the blade stops, vice opens, and bow returns to where it started.

Semi-Automatic mode – the operator programmes top and bottom position and presses the start button. The vice closes, cut commences hydraulically, after the cut the blade stops, vice opens, and bow returns to the programmed top of stroke position.

The centralised control panel provides all information required by the operator, including alarms, diagnostics, pieces cut, cutting time and blade tension.
